GMT + 3 Hours Advice on getting a simple haircut

Post by Bao Thu Aug 31, 2017 12:15 pm

Hello, I'm looking for any advice or tips for getting a simple haircut. In essence, it’s actually pretty simple. I like my natural hair the way it is. I want it shorter, that’s all. But due to my previous experiences with my hair, I’m rather nervous.
In the details below, I will try to explain why I'm rather nervous over a simple haircut.
In the past, I had gotten choppy layers. For whatever reason, that changed the texture of my hair. I did not like it. These pictures show this: https://imgur.com/a/MH09F
I had also dyed my hair. That damaged my hair. These pictures show this: https://imgur.com/a/e90D7
I had to fix my damaged hair. So I got a short cut. My hair still grew out damaged. So I got more short cuts and buzz cuts. In total, I probably got 3-4 short cuts and/or buzz cuts. But my hair was still growing out damaged after every short cut and/or buzz cut. These pictures show this: https://imgur.com/a/zePK5
I didn’t want to deal with my damaged hair anymore. I got a bald cut. These pictures show this: https://imgur.com/a/m3j0X
After my bald cut, I didn’t do anything to my hair, as in I never got it cut, never got layers, never dyed it. I actually like my natural hair. I don’t know what kind of style you would call it. But I like it. These pictures show my hair after the bald cut
I also like the hairstyles in the pictures below. I think it's similar to my natural hairstyle
If I show these pictures to the hairstylist, would that work?
Regarding layers and the texture change : Maybe a picture of me with layers and a picture of me after bald cut (natural layers) side by side can show what I'm trying to say better
Maybe the texture change had nothing to do with the fact that I had gotten choppy layers, maybe it was coincidental. Maybe the hairstylist had used the incorrect type of scissors. Either way, I'm nervous about getting a haircut due to my previous experiences.

In essence, I like my natural hair, I simply want it shorter. That's all. But once again, I'm nervous over it, because of my previous experiences with my hair. Any tips?
