LONDON: The research conducted now says that taking one chocolate a day keeps the blood pressure away. The research establishes a new theory taking one chocolate is equivalent for the exercise done for an hour. It is good for blood pressure patients.
For the purpose of the study, university of Adelaide examined flavanols of dark chocolate and found that it causes the dilation of blood vessels which eventually benefit in lowering the blood pressure. A vast controlled trial was used with Medline and Cochrane and concluded this theory.
Author of the study Karin Ried said that Flavanols increased the formation of endothelial nitric oxide and thereby resulted in vasodilatation. The analysis found that blood pressure is lowered by 55mm Hg Which is equivalent to the reduction made by one hour exercise.
It is believed and advised that Flavanols can be taken from nuts and green tea instead of from dark chocolates.
The findings of the study have been published in access journal BMC Medicine.
