MUST MAKE CHANGES...
ISL201
Assignment No. 2
ANSWER:
The people at that time used their aesthetic, rational and moral consciousness and realized the truth brought to them by the Prophets. People were influenced very much by seeing the classic lives of the Prophets as well.
Life after death was biggest point to prove for Prophets because its perceptual experience was not possible. Allah answered all the doubts regarding this point in QURAN-E-PAK. When people of MAKKAH denied believing the possibility of life after death saying that how can dead be filled with lives again. ALLAH ALMIGHTY exposed the weakness of their stand by giving them the rational and logical argument in QURAN in surah 36 Ayat 78-81:
"And he (man) presents for us an example and forgets his (own) creation.
He says, "Who will give life to bones while they crumbled?" Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time and He is, of all creation, Knowing." (It is), He who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite. Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, (it is so); and He is the Knowing Creator."
Here Allah has clearly made the disbelievers speechless by reminding them that Allah has done it once already by giving them life and he can do it again and again as many times as he want to. But those who still don’t agree and are just stuck to believe in what their ancestors taught them they just don’t want to be logical. Allah then tells us what will happen in life after death.
Those who agreed will be awarded with a place in Heaven.
Those who disagreed will be punished in Hell.
Before the arrival of PROPHET MUHAMMAD (PBUH) in Arab, People were indulged in all kind of bad things like, Wine, tribal feuds, gambling, plundering and murdering. But when they accepted Islam as their true religion all evilness was finished from their hearts. Some would have been scared of Hell and Allah's anger and some would have fallen in love with Heaven and Allah for His countless blessings. As everything that was presented to people was very logical people understood that this life is just temporary and a never ending life is what awaits them. And when they knew that this temporary life is just a test whose result would be declared in the life after death and on that result their never ending life after death would be decided (either Hell or Heaven). This is the main thing that would have encouraged people to embrace the risk of being totally alienated from their own worldly community and become the followers of One Allah and his Prophets.

Quran Says , O you who belive! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority ( ulu’l -amr)
from among you; then if u quarrel about any thing refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you belive in
Allah and the last day:this is better very good in the end.

...
The sentence “obey Allah and obey the Messenger”, is in fact the basis of all divine laws and the

shari’ah. To obey Allah means to obey Him in all the realities and the laws He sent t o us through His
Messenger. To obey the Messenger means to obey his orders which emanate from his legislative
authority based on divine revelation and what he, in his wisdom and what Allah has taught him, decides
in administrative and judicial matters. There is a suggestion in the verse by the repetition of the word
‘obey’ that the Messenger’s obedience is distinct from Allah’s obedience, although his obedience is in
reality the obedience of Allah Himself because it is Allah who has obliged us to obey the Messenger.

As in Quran says in above verse: To obey Allah is to follow His book, and to obey the Prophet is to follow
the Sunnah. Sunnah is in fact divine revelation, which the Prophet was charged with delivering. The
command is not, it may be noted, repeated in the verse before “those among you who have been
entrusted with authority”, which means that obedience to them is conditional upon their orders being in
accordance with the Quran and Sunnah.

In the Qur'an Allah tells believers to be affectionate toward each other, speak good words, and behave
modestly. Commanding the right, forbidding the wrong, communicating the moral values of Islam to all
humanity are set out as obligatory duties (fara'id). Cleanliness has been made obligatory. However, such
matters are explained in the Qur'an in certain ways. Believers learn about the examples how to actually
implement all these commands in their lives by means of the practices of the Prophet (saas). In the
Qur'an, Allah (swt) reveals:

You have an excellent model in the Messenger of Allah, for all who put their hope in Allah and the Last
Day and remember Allah much. (Surat al-Ahzab :21)

Therefore, when disagreement arises, believers are obliged to turn to the Qur'an and the Sunnah,
Islam's two fundamental reference points:

If you disagree about something, refer it back to Allah and the Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the
Last Day.

That is the best thing to do and gives the best result. (Surat an-Nisa': 59)

Not only did the Prophet (saas) transmit the verses he received from Allah (swt) to humanity, but he also
explained them. Therefore, the Sunnah can be regarded as the interpretation of the Qur'an. Viewing it in
this way will protect it from corruption, misunderstanding, and distortion and also facilitate its being
understood.
