APPLESAUCE RAISIN DROPS

Applesauce Raisin Drops
1 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup applesauce
1 egg
2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Mix together the brown sugar, shortening,
applesauce, and the egg. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop by
rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie
sheets. Bake for 11-12 minutes. Yield: About 5 Dozen
