Ashoka Changemakers hiring now for Bay Area Network Coordinator

Ashoka Changemakers is seeking a Network Coordinator for an upcoming competition focused on building more vibrant and empathic communities in the South Bay Area California.

We're looking for a highly motivated, socially minded individual to help build a vibrant community of competition entrants, network partners, and media partners focused on accelerating empathy and building other 21^st century changemaking skills within their communities.

Responsibilities:

Work with the Changemakers Community Team to develop a framework and strategy for competition marketing, participate in direct outreach and mobilization efforts, and develop new creative ways to reach our target audience through 5 counties in the Bay Area (San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito)
Conduct research and build databases of potential competition entrants, network partners, expert commentators, and media partners.
Conduct direct outreach to these contacts in order to build relationships, secure active competition participants and build a movement around the competition.
Meet with client representatives when relevant.

Qualifications:

Demonstrated commitment to social change
Knowledge of Northern California’s non-profit and social enterprise sectors, specifically those addressing issues around empathy-building, community-building, and leadership
Excellent communication skills and experience in marketing and community outreach
Based in the San Francisco/Bay Area region
2 years of experience
Available to work remotely, part-time, over the period of May through August 2014
