Greenexus hiring Business Development lead
Greenexus
is a green media and communications startup. We created Into™, a
storytelling, contact and personalized information cloud platform and
mobile app, meant to create direct connections between green producers
and consumers. After a year’s work, we developed a functional prototype
of our platform and mobile app and presented to independent green
producers in California, Pennsylvania and New York, as well as large/key
industry players during the first quarter of 2014. Our idea received a
really enthusiastic welcome, and we are now in the process of launching
our version 1.0 and starting operations. At the same time, we are
putting together our initial core team. Right now, we are seeking to
fill two key positions: Business Development Leader and Media Production
Coordinator. Both positions are described below. We feel this is a
great moment, one of great opportunity. One one hand, there is
challenge; that of any other green startup getting a really enthusiastic
response from its business ecosystem. On the other, there is a chance
to become a member of an outstanding team and deliver a game-changing
tool to all sorts of green producers around the world and, of course,
bring means for transparency and personal engagement to all green

Business Development Leader
This role is startup sales 101. Take a new product with pilot customer success stories and grow the top line while developing
and refining sales systems to enable scalable growth over the next 5
years. You will be calling on marketing and C level leadership of
leading green economy brands - think Whole Foods, Patagonia, Organic
Valley, etc. You will be negotiating license deals for a product that
is still evolving and will be communicating customer needs and desires
to the product team and working with the communications team to develop
excellent sales support materials. After establishing a repeatable
pattern of sales success you will look to grow a regional team and
ultimately a global team. You might feel that you are a good fit for a
director level and capable of bringing in some sizeable deals but
managing a global team is not something you are sure you are ready for
- good, do connect, you still may be a fit. This is a doer role - not a
manager (yet). We need to grow sales and begin to establish sales
systems (sales cycle, sales cycle steps, any contract revisions,
potentially pricing revisions). We are still early in the growth stage
and you will be working closely with the founder and board to refine
your sales approach. At first this might look like very tactical
meetings where we are selling together - over time you will be expected
to report and forecast a pipeline of new deals.

The responsibilities for this role include:
- Direct targeted outreach to key aggregators (brands) of green economy products (food, fish, forestry, apparel, etc.)
- Attend green product industry events
- Develop a pipeline for platform subscription sales for key aggregators
- Describe, measure and improve the sales cycle for initiating contact to signed contract
- Hire sales and biz dev team to increase reach
- Initiate and maintain CRM with regular pipeline reports to board and leadership
- Successfully negotiate license deals
- Communicate lead and customer feedback about pricing to leadership and recommend most effective pricing strategy
- Work with communications team to develop marketing materials as needed to support sale including customer testimonials, white papers, sales sheets
- Refine license pricing and contract terms to streamline sales process
Qualifications and Experience:
- Interest, enthusiasm and knowledge of the emerging green economy, green products, the LOHAS marketplace
- Experience in software or software as a service enterprise license sales
- License / contract negotiation
- Partnership development
