Vicious dengue virus continues taking lives

LAHORE: Four patients have lost their lives in Mayo Hospital after being hit by the dengue virus Thursday, Geo News reported. The total number of casualties from dengue now stands at 155 in Lahore while 172 in Punjab.

According to reports, 400 cases of dengue have been confirmed in the past 24 hours. The total number of patients is now 14,077 in the entire province out of which 12,216 are in Lahore only.

Experts from Indonesia said that it is not possible to control the virus without curbing mosquito breeding.

According to medical experts, only one percent of patients die from dengue worldwide but in Punjab, the percentage has gone up to 1.25 percent, following the health department statistics.
