US commerce and trade delegation visits PIFD

LAHORE: An American delegation led by Assistant US Trade Representative for South and Central Asia Michael Dalaney along with Secretary Commerce Zafar Mehmood visited Pakistan Institution of Fashion Designing (PIFD) here on Wednesday.

Ms. Hina Tayyaba Chairman PIFD briefed the delegation about the
performance of the institution and its study levels while all the heads of departments also briefed the delegation about their departments.

Appreciating the standard of departments of Furniture designing,
Fashion Designing, Textile designing, Jewellery designing, the delegation observed the level of education at the institution was of the international level.

Dalaney speaking on the occasion said that America wanted long term business relations with Pakistan and the purpose of visit of the delegation was to continue these relations in future.


Zafar Mehmood said that an agreement was signed between the US and Pakistan in 2003 for increasing cooperation in different fields and the visit of the delegation was aimed at enhancing business relations with Pakistan. (APP)
