HYDERABAD: There is no respite in sight for people in inundated areas of Sindh where stagnant rainwater can lead to outbreak of epidemic if it is not drained out immediately, Geo News reported.

Affectees are facing severe problems due to unavailability of food and medicines.

Outbreak of malaria, Diarrhea and other epidemic diseases have added to the miseries of thousands of people in Badin where rains played havoc over the past one month.

Rain and saline drain water in still present in the district. The worst affected areas are Pangrio, Shadilarge, Khoski and others.

Thousands of people have been affected by the rains in Naukot in Mirpurkhas. The affectees are struggling on their own for survival in tents. They are facing acute shortage of food.

Torrential rains have destroyed roads, cutting of links to a large number of villages in Jati and Mirpur Bathoro in district Thatta. Affectees are facing acute shortage of food and still waiting for any aid or relief goods.

More than 100 villages are still under water in Kachho in Dadu.

Hundreds of houses have been destroyed in torrential rains in Nara and Faiz Gand tehsils of district Khairpur.
