Stock market slides below 12000 level

KARACHI: The stock prices at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) ended down on Monday as the benchmark KSE 100-share Index dropped below 12000 points, losing 76 points to close at 11,964.

Market began downbeat on the first trading day of the week and remained under selling pressure throughout the day, sources said.

The uncertainty on the political front has been taking its toll on the local stock market where investors shied away from taking fresh positions.

The trade volume stood at 50 million shares in the ready market with Lotte Pakistan topping the list of today's volume leaders which closed at Rs15.73, down by paisas 26.

Meanwhile, the younger, KSE-30 Index lost 89 points to finish the day at 11,527.
