Gold jumps to all time high at Rs 44,485

KARACHI: Gold jumped by Rs 428 to all time high at Rs 44,485 per 10 grams in the local market Monday, as its international price also surged to record $ 1,621 an ounce, market sources said.
According to chairman Karachi Saraf Association, Haji Haroon Chand, investors are buying gold amid the fears of possible US default on its foreign debt.
He said that locals are buying gold in the expectation of further rise in its prices in Pakistan.
Bullion's tola (11.664 grams) price also escalated by Rs 500 to Rs 51,900.
Silver also closed higher at Rs 1,080 per 10 grams. (APP)
