In Pakistan the overall population of milking animals is 125.5 million.Out of which cows is 18.9 %, Buffaloes 19.7 %, goats 40 % and sheep 19.7 %.
* They are producing 32 million tons of milk, which amounts to 6% of the total world milk production.
* Pakistan is the 4th largest milk producing country in the world.
Value of Milk as Compared to other commodities
Milk 32 million tons 240 billion Rs
Cotton 78 billion Rs
Wheat 139 billion Rs
Rice 38 billion Rs
(Economic Survey of Pakistan)
