KARACHI: In a measure to avoid the spread of the Dengue virus the government of Sindh has imposed a 60 day ban on operating public swimming pools, Geo News reported.

The ban was imposed under section 144 of the criminal procedure code and covers hotels, clubs, schools, farmhouses and parks. The pools will be drained so that there is no standing water which is a breeding ground for the Dengue mosquito.
