HYDERABAD: The EDO Health Bux Ali Pattafi has said that this is the high time to adopt strategy against HIV/ AIDS for which each organization, NGO and individual was equally responsible to participate in the interest of society.

Addressing participants of a rally arranged by the Marie Stops Society Sindh Health and Education Development Society (SHEDS), on World HIV/AIDs awareness day, being observed to raise awareness about prevention of this fatal disease.

The rally started from Old Campus and culminated at Press Club Hyderabad here on Wednesday.

He said that the number of 70 to 80 thousands HIV/AIDs infected people have been estimated in Pakistan.

Bux Ali Pattafi said that this has created dangerous situation in the society.

The speakers including Dr. Bux Ali Pitafi, Programme Coordinator SHEDS Dr. Zahid Saddar, Deputy Director Provincial Health Education Cell Hyderabad Dr. Seerat Shaheen,.Dr.Khalid Shafi,Dr.Ghous,Dr.Illiyas Khokhar, Programme Manager SHEDS,Hyderabad Manzoor Baloch and others have called upon the organizations, NGOs and community participation to combat with HIV/Aids menace in the district.

They underlined the need of educating the masses covering all aspects, which could lead the prevalence of HIV/AIDS. Only education and awareness can stop this deadly disease in spreading among the people of the country, they added.

They also stressed the need of launching mass awareness campaign in order to provide information of adopting safety measures to the people so that they could save themselves in receiving the HIV/AIDS virus among their bodies.

They demanded of the the government to spread awareness for the prevention of the disease and also asked the media to run special programmes for the common people in this regard.

All the EDOs, Doctors, Para-Medical staff, representatives of Governmental and non-Governmental organizations of workers of the political and social organizations and people belonging to different walk of life participated in the rally.
