LAHORE: Dengue outbreak in Lahore is taking a serious turn, as cases are pouring in at such an overwhelming rate that hospitals are forced to lay three patients on one bed, Geo News reported.

Dengue fever has almost turned into an epidemic particularly in Lahore and generally in Punjab.

Long wiggly queues of patients can be seen wobbling in the emergency wards.

Hundreds of patients have been admitted to only Lahore General Hospital (LGH). LGH’s phase II building and surgical ward have been turned into dengue infirmary and its outpatient department is open to patients around the clock.
On the other hand a large number of patients have thronged Services, Ganga Ram, and Mao Hospitals as well.

Health experts say hospitals seem to be unable to accommodate this flurry of patients, which makes it imperative for the government to take extraordinary measures before it is too late.
