Local gold hits Rs62,300

KARACHI: The price of bullion Monday surged to a record Rs62,300 per tola in local market, Geo News reported.

According to All Sindh Sarafa Association’s Chairman Haji Haroon Chand, gold price went up by Rs2800 to close at Rs62,300.

Chand said spiking international prices and a growing trend of buying this precious metal as a safe investment haven spurred local prices to shoot up.

The price of ten grams of gold also saw a rise of Rs2400 to reach Rs53,400.

In the international market an ounce of gold is being traded for $1896.
