10 PIA planes grounded; passengers face long delays

KARACHI: Passengers of the national carrier are facing long delays as 10 out of 39 PIA planes have been grounded due to technical faults, Geo News reported Wednesday.

A Peshawar to UAE bound PIA flight PK-255 made an emergency landing here after developing a technical fault in one of its generators.

According to sources, the flight was scheduled to land in Al Ain city and was carrying 95 passengers.

Another Islamabad to Skardu bound PIA flight PK-451 was also cancelled while other scheduled flights including Karachi to Muscat PK-225 and Lahore to Islamabad PK-356 have also been called off, sources added.

Earlier on Tuesday, an Islamabad to Karachi bound flight PK-369, carrying several parliamentarians, made an emergency landing in Multan after developing a technical fault.
