ISLAMABAD: Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq said that his experience of leading the side in all three formats has allowed him to learn a lot, especially the art of man management.
"This team has a good future. We also have good players on the bench and hopefully we can plan well for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and England."
Misbah said the team would face a challenge adjusting with a new coach as the Zimbabwe tour was Waqar's last.
"Waqar has really worked hard with this team and we wanted to do well for him. We will miss him as the team had adjusted well with him," Misbah told a website in an interview.
Misbah expressed satisfaction with the team's performance in the recently-concluded tour of Zimbabwe.
"I am satisfied with the performance. It was a good learning experience for the entire team and was not an easy tour as the pressure was always on us not to lose against a low ranked side," Misbah said.
Meanwhile Waqar also praised the team for its all-round show in Zimbabwe.
"I think there is no need to say much as results speak for themselves. We won all the matches on the tour and players did their best and gelled well to give good performance," said Waqar.
He also made it clear that he enjoyed a good understanding with skipper Misbah and senior players in the team and also said that it was their collective effort that led to the good results.
"The players were keen to win every match as they knew it was my last series as coach. Overall, I had a good time as coach because the team has progressed well and we have built up a good bench strength now," Waqar said.
"It was very satisfying to see the team complete the clean sweep in Zimbabwe as no team can be taken lightly these days. More importantly some of the younger players have really progressed well and can serve Pakistan cricket for a while now," he added.
