US officials quiz Osama bin Laden's wives

NEW YORK: The US intelligence officers reportedly have interrogated the three of Osama bin Laden's wives under the supervision of Pakistani intelligence service.

The women - who were all interviewed together - were "hostile" towards the Americans, CNN reported on its website, citing US and Pakistani sources.

Members of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence were in the room along with the US intelligence officers, the officials told CNN.

All three officials told CNN the interrogation didn't yield much new information, while adding that it was early in the process.

The eldest of the three wives spoke for the group.

The youngest of the three wives, 29-year-old Amal Ahmed Abdulfattah of Yemen, was wounded during the US raid on bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, on May 2.

The other two wives are from Saudi Arabia, according to a well placed US official.
