Taliban who shot down helicopter have been killed: US

WASHINGTON: The Taliban insurgents who shot down a US military helicopter in Afghanistan, leaving 30 American troops dead, have been hunted down and killed by allied forces, the US commander said Wednesday.

General John Allen, the new commander of US forces in Afghanistan, told reporters at the Pentagon that "at approximately midnight on 8th August, coalition forces killed the Taliban insurgents responsible for this attack." (AFP)
