HAMBANTOTA: Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara won the toss and elected to bat against Canada in the group A day-night match here at the Mahinda Rajapaksha International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Sri Lanka rested their frontline pacemen Lasith Malinga and Dilhara Fernando as they opted for three seamers and two specialist spinners in Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis.
Canada gave a one-day debut to 29-year-old left-handed batsman Tyson Gordon.
The stadium is being used for an international match for the first time, making it the 177th venue in the 50-over format of the game.
