No intention to withdraw powers from Rangers: Wasan

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Wasan said the government had no intention to withdraw police powers from the Rangers, Geo News reported. According to Wasan 42 target killers have been arrested during the surgical operations carried out by the law enforcement agencies in the city

He added that after the orders from the Supreme Court, six judges had been appointed to special courts.

Speaking to the media, he said the SC's suo moto notice of the Karachi situation was a good thing but similar action could have also been taken in different provinces. Without mentioning Zulfiqar Mirza’s name, Wasan said why was the release of target killers over the past three years not mentioned earlier.

He added that Mirza’s resignations from two posts had been accepted and the party would make the rest of the decisions.
