Heavy rain, snowfall in northern areas

ISLAMABAD: Widespread rain is continuing in different parts of the country since Saturday night while it is expected that most parts of the country would receive more rain on Monday.
A Spokesman of the Meteorological Office said that twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi received 20 mm rain till mid-day on Sunday.
Owing to dense fog part of Motorway between Islamabad and Swabi Interchange has been closed for traffic.
Similarly‚ Kotli received 19‚ Rawlakot 17‚ Malamjabba 15 Parachinar received 14‚ Muzaffarabad and Sialkot 13‚ Dir‚ Kalam‚ Risalpur and Chirat 12 and Quetta‚ Pattan and Peshawar 10 milli meter of rain Marri and Kalam received 6 inch snow.Met office has forecast more rain with thunderstorm during the next twenty four hours.
Snowfall and rain is also continuing over the hills of Hazara Divisions. Nathiagali‚ Thandiani and other parts of Galiat and district Abbottabad have so far received about three feet snowfall. Reports of snowfall and heavy rain have also been received from Naran‚ Kaghan‚ Kansh and Siran valleys of district Mansehra.
Abbottabad-Murree Road‚ manshera-Naran-Jhalkad Highway and link roads have been blocked after heavy snowfall.
While snowfall in northern areas including Galyat has disrupted routine activities of the people, the Met Office has forecast more snowfall.
