Chashma power plant-1 resumes generation

ISLAMABAD: Chashma Nuclear Power Plant-1 after remaining shut for past one week resumed its operation to generate electricity on Thursday as the power shortfall across the country shrunk to only 800 MW, Geo News reported.
Chashnop-1 with a capacity to generate 300 MW electricity has become functional and started its power production, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Water and Power.
He said power supply from Jamshoro thermal has increased by 100 MW and 300 MW from Muzafargarh thermal while the total generation thermal plants has been raised to 1700 MW.
The spokesman claimed that the total demand for electricity stood at 14000 MW against the supply of 13200 MW.
